Gayle Lewis, Mana’o Radio DJ since 2012
“Music and Maui have been in my soul since 1965 and still spinning. Jerry Lee Lewis was my first concert, at War Memorial Gym in Wailuku in the late 1960s. I am a concert whore and my goal is to attend as many concerts before my final tour. James Brown, B.B. King, Michael Jackson and Prince just to name a few I’ve seen on the hit parade. I enjoy mixing many genres: World Fusion, Future Funk, Lounge FM, Soul Jazz, Mystic Chill and beyond, which creates positive feelings all over, and that is therapy. I’m proud to be an ornament in Music Art. Former station manager/DJ/photographer Tony Novak-Clifford requested my talent and pressed my play button in 2012 – and since then the beat goes on for me and my Mana‘o Radio Ohana. This is the best radio station on the planet. Tune in to my sounds of the Past, Present, Forgotten – and thanks, for turning me on, mmm.”

Deborah Pozin, Hula Dancer
In my early years on Maui I was mostly involved with PR and advertising. I was the Co-Publisher for Common Ground Hawaii, and I worked at the Maui Sun Newspaper. I was involved in the advertising department for Maui’s first four color magazine and the first publication on Maui that published coupons called “Here’s Maui.” Years later it became the “Maui Gold Magazine”, which has continued all of these years. Over a 20 year period I worked at Lahaina Harbor and on Front St, and transferred to Wailea as head concierge. My passion is hula where I have been in countless hula performances all over Maui, Molokai, Waikiki and Hilo, and I have played Ukulele in many shows.
